[12:00] “MAP is supporting you as you clear, step by step, anything that you created to limit you. We are the creators. We create anything in our life. When we stop and own whatever we created we can change it.”
[20:00] "Sleep is fundamentally important. While we sleep the body detoxifies, and heals. The brain detoxifies. Actually sleep between 10 and 12, it is important to have this early sleep… There are many things we can improve about sleep. We create fight and flight responses during the day and these affect our sleep."
[22:00] “I ask clients what changes they notice and I often hear that when they work with their issues and improve, sleep improves too. When sleep is an issue I find out what is keeping them awake. I ask: Have they had it for a long time, or is it recent? Do they know the event that caused it?"
[23:00] “The mind and the body respond to this work because as the systems get more into alignment, the entire personality gets calmer, more peaceful and more clear. With more peace and clarity, you can manage more work, or you are smarter in what you do.”
[26:00] "As MAP Practitioners it’s not just about the words that we say, it’s about who we are as a person and the intuitive and empathic connection that we make with the client."
[31:00] "All behaviors are based on memory, including sleep. This person is waking up in the night at the same time, one o’clock, and I say: What is the significance of one o’clock for you? They may not know and I have to help them [find the memory that underlies the behavior.]"
[43:00] “The brain is an energy monster. It takes about 25% of our oxygen and body energy being not even a half gallon in volume. The brain is always looking for savings. The brain develops a script for anything you do. When the trigger is cleared, the script is still there. If I don’t take care to create something new and pay attention, the old script will still run.”
[45:00] "Client and practitioner are a team and they have different jobs to do. For a good outcome, both parties have to do their part. The practitioner needs to be 100%, and the client needs to pay attention to themselves and continue to transfer their insights from the session into their lives. It’s not just automatic. MAP is fixing the memories, the charge so I am calmer, more focused, more clear, and I can make better decisions.”
[1:02:00] “When there are significant sleep issues for a client with physical health conditions, sleep is something we need to work with sooner rather than later because it is essential to be well-rested if you want to be able to recover.”
Sleep is an important topic and foundational for good health. For my clients with chronic health issues, it's an important consideration because restorative sleep is essential for recovering our health. Dr. Jenna shares a lot about her story and how she came to be a MAP Practitioner. I think it is notable that she's trained in Reiki (as am I), several years of NLP and other modalities, and yet MAP is her primary method. This is true of many of my colleagues who have training in hypnosis, EMDR, EFT, or other energy methods--MAP is their method of choice. Why? I think it's because it is often faster and easier and you can also combine other skills into it.
Madeleine specializes in neural retraining for chronic conditions. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, she worked with many clients who were interested in eliminating allergies, sensitivities and intolerances. After learning a basic method and seeing its limitations, she trained in an advanced method of retraining the brain and now offers MAP sessions over Zoom and online self-paced programs for Anxiety/Depression, Sensitivities, Chronic Pain, Self-Healing, and COVID Long.
