[3:20] I had tried everything, I’d been doing acupuncture, chinese herbs, massage and really just anything on the natural and functional health side and I was struggling. I was listening to a podcast on fertility and you were the guest. I just remember being instantly intrigued. It was my first introduction to the idea that maybe I shouldn’t be looking outside for the answer, to herbs or pills or some sort of physical modality, maybe I needed to be looking inside for those solutions.
[12:00] This [traumatic memory] was something I’d addressed in counseling, and it was helpful, but with MAP you can do 5 years of counseling in a few sessions. I had done a fair share of counseling, but basically in counseling you’re trying to let it out to the point where it doesn’t hurt anymore so you can move on with your life. What’s different about MAP is that even in that first session you quiet your mind so that your subconscious bubbles up. And then you realize, oh, this in particular is why this is so painful for me: it makes me feel like a failure, or I’m unimportant. That’s where MAP is really powerful.
[23:45] Physical effects I have noticed: I had an uneasy feeling in my gut often before we started, not as severe as IBS, I don’t have that anymore. I don’t have stomach issues at all anymore. I had more food sensitivities, and I eat whatever I want now. My skin issues have improved and my sleep has improved.
[30:00] So much of the Sensitivities Program is about fear. We are just programmed to fear certain things, depending on your childhood. Doing that daily work on staying out of the fear-based mindset and empowering myself was monumental for me. When I was done with the program I was no longer sensitive to mold. I did all the steps to re-expose myself and I did not react.
[39:40] [Working with your mind] is absolutely foundational to physical health. I believe that you cannot address your physical symptoms without addressing your mind. Of course, medications can help, but they don’t get to the root cause. Your mind is leading the charge and your body will follow and that goes for positive and negative things.
[1:00:50] It all makes sense how I got here, it’s not that my body is out to get me. It’s that my body is trying to tell me something and I don’t know what it is. Between MAP and GNM it’s been translated down to a language I can read.
